Works great Very sturdy tool, I't makes the challenge of changing a tire like a regular job Don't need a lot of strenght to get the tire get into the rim Only 4 stars becuase is not for mountain tires I can say the biggest tire you can use this is a 26x 1.75 Besides this I recomend it a lot
Lifesaver I have very tight tires and small hands which makes pushing the last couple of inches of bead over the rim, next to impossible. This tool is a lifesaver. It makes an impossible job, child's play. I only wish that the handle could telescope a little to make it easier to stow. deserves a 10 rating.
No tire is too much for this tool My first experience with a tight tire was horrible and involved a screwdriver scratching my rim. I will never forget the day I first used this when I realized I never had to deal with tight tires again. Apparently every tire I have bought is too tight for my rim but now that isn't even an issue. I only wish I would've bought it sooner.
Great tool even if you only change tires infrequently We own quite a few family bikes so we change tires relatively frequently - but not 'bike shop' frequently. I had recently purchased a new set of Continental tires and I remembered that last time I had purchased Contis they were a bear to get on the rim. So I bought the Tire Jack at the same time. As it turned out, I sprained my hand right before the tires and the Tire Jack arrived, so I had even less ability to get the bead over the rim...but didn't have ANY problem with getting the tires mounted using the Tire Jack. This is a really inventive tool that I haven't seen in the local bike shops, and even if you only mount tires once in awhile, unless you've got Schwarzenegger thumbs, I'd recommend it.
Finally I can change my own tire! Great, great piece of equipment. I bought new tires for my road bike and they were impossible for me to get on myself. Especially the last part that needs to slip over the rim. This Tire Jack took a a little bit of time to get used to - there's a loud snap that still makes me jump which is just the tire going over the rim. Now I can quickly change the tire without wearing myself out. The only complaint I have is that it won't fit in my fanny pack but that's okay, I just put it in the pocket of my bike shirt. I love this Jack, I've changed my tire about 6 times (for practice - I want to make sure I can do it on the road) and I haven't had any problems. It doesn't pinch the tube at all. |
